Research Materials & Briefings

Ongoing research by our technical and practice management teams is geared to the following areas for our 2009-2010 horizon. Briefings on each of these research initiatives are available upon request.

A. Collaboration in Dental Care

Current research points to several elements that drive effective collaboration in dental healthcare. In a business where autonomy has been the traditional role, collaboration is more than an emerging mindset.  It shapes the quality of services, the relationships of a practice and the economics of the dental system.

B. Technology and Practice Capital

The alternatives in clinical and practice management technology have never been so extensive, or expensive. Yet in the current economic environment, technology investments are subject to more cautious consideration.  Our research on practice capital investment suggests that the right technology moves for the right reasons are more relevant today, with good planning.

C. Staff and Patient Engagement

When professionals and their patients are fully engaged in a focused dental care relationship, there is a level of connection that drives greater outcomes and satisfaction for everyone.  Our current research on staff and patient engagement focuses on three factors... appreciative energy, service accountability and commitment to quality.  Engagement drives value for everyone.

D. Group Structure and Strategy

From our 25 year tracking study on practice models, we can draw together some ideas that frame the Practice of the Future.  These ideas connect structure of practice organization with strategy for practice development, investment and governance.  Further, they connect the dots between practice culture, patient satisfaction, resources, value and professional reputation.

DeCEM Group principals are available for group discussions and subject matter presentations on these and related subjects.
